Catherine & Phil

Catherine & Phil

In addition to designing custom fine jewelry, I also source antique jewelry. When Phil came to me for an engagement ring for Catherine, he knew he wanted to find something timeless and unique. The original plan was to find an antique diamond and design a ring around it; however, I came across a classic round shape stone (that would check the box for "timeless") but in an antique setting that was GORGEOUS. I fell in love with it instantly and secretly wanted to keep it for myself. It was a round, rose cut diamond ring from the 1800s. The setting looked like a tiara. I didn't want to remove the stone from it since it was so beautiful, so I sent the ring from NYC to SF for Phil to see in person before deciding if it was "the one." He said he wore it around the house for an evening with it on his pinky and fell in love with it too. He popped the question and of course, she said yes! We also worked together to create an eternity band with matching rose cut diamonds as shown in the image below. Photo courtesy of Kimberly Kay Photography @kimberlykayphoto
